We built Float to do one thing properly: get good people genuinely good cover, without the usual nonsense. Three things make that possible:

• No sales commissions. Our advisors are never paid to push a product. There's nothing to "close" and no incentive to sell you more than you need.
• Plain, upfront pricing. The price you're quoted is the price you pay. No markups layered on top, no mystery admin fees.
• Properly regulated. We're authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and your cover is backed by an established underwriter (more on both below).

Float arranges your policy, but your cover is underwritten by Cumulus Life & Health Ltd — an established insurer that pays the claims and stands behind your policy.

Cumulus is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and regulated by the FCA and the PRA. That means a specialist regulator independently oversees its ability to pay claims, not just its conduct.

In short: Float is your guide and advocate; Cumulus is the financial muscle behind the promise.

A policy is only as good as the company's ability to pay when it matters. Our underwriter is built to be there when you need it:

• Independently rated A+ (Superior) for financial strength by Halo Ratings.
• Solvency coverage ratio of 187% — it holds well over the capital regulators require it to hold.
• Protected by the FSCS. If the insurer were ever unable to pay, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme covers 100% of eligible insurance claims, with no upper limit.

We paid 98.7% of all claims in 2025, with most life claims settled within 5 working days of receiving everything we need. Here's the process:

1. Tell us. Call our claims line or start online, any time. No long forms to begin.
2. We guide you. A dedicated claims handler explains exactly what's needed and helps you gather it.
3. We assess fairly. We review quickly and keep you updated at every step.
4. We pay. Once approved, funds go straight to you or your beneficiaries.

2. We investigate. We aim to resolve most complaints within 8 weeks and keep you updated.
3. Still unhappy? You can refer it, free of charge, to the independent Financial Ombudsman Service.
